I was impressed with the good quality this very affordable
player offers. The upconversion to High Def is good, its design and additional input for flash drives is a plus.
The HDMI output delivers a crisp, clear signal and the remote is nicely designed. No draw backs with this great performing system.

Easy setup. Remote is a bit small, but this is my only complain’. What a difference in viewing my dvd’s. Easy set up, clean, slim design, and hdmi output

Where can you get it used online?

sony dvp fx820 does improve the image of a standard DVD when displayed on an HDTV. It certainly doesn’t compare with true HD, but it’s definitely better than a standard player. The remote is a little disappointing. Small, and a few buttons with dual purpose, which is kind of annoying. Also lacks an open/closebutton, which means you have to use the one on the unit and wait for the tray to open.

I got sony dvp fx820 because I wanted to play multi region DVD’s (from the UK). I found a short sequence of codes online that took about two minutes to input and then the player was unlocked for all DVD regions. Much cheaper than buying from an online retailer who does it for you. Good picture, good sound. Small machine. Only the remote and menus let it down slightly.

sony dvp fx820 is easy setup and easy to use. Using the upscale setting and a standard DVD with TV at 720p, the picture is bright and beautifully detailed. Much better picture than I had expected. I definitely recommend this player. It is thinner but a bit wider than my last player, so be sure it will fit your allotted space..
